We’re delighted to share that we’ve successfully passed our Cyber Essentials assessment, allowing us to renew this essential certification for another 12 months.
What is Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials is a UK Government-approved certification scheme designed to protect organisations from the most common cyber threats. By implementing five core controls, organisations can reduce their vulnerability to around 80% of typical cyber attacks.
At our Swansea site, the IT Service team has worked diligently to ensure compliance with these critical controls. This certification underscores our dedication to maintaining secure systems, giving our clients peace of mind and reinforcing the trust they place in us.
Moving towards Cyber Essentials Plus
But we’re not stopping here. As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening our cyber security posture, we’re taking the next step: achieving Cyber Essentials Plus certification.
Unlike Cyber Essentials, which is self-assessed, Cyber Essentials Plus requires an independent technical audit. Between 26th and 29th November, Sapphire Ltd will conduct a thorough audit of:
- A sample of end-user devices (scope: SSA and UBS)
- All internet gateways
- All servers with internet-accessible services.
This audit will run alongside our 10-day annual global IT health check, further bolstering our cyber resilience.

Achieving and maintaining Cyber Essentials certification demonstrates our proactive approach to cyber security. It reassures our clients, partners, and employees that we prioritise data protection and continually invest in measures to keep threats at bay.
