ArvatoConnect recognised for its culture and positive social impact at top UK customer service awards

19th March 2024 · Arvato · News, Press Releases

We have been shortlisted for not one, but two, 2024 UK National Contact Centre Awards for the ‘Giving Something Back’ and ‘Best Contact Centre Culture (Large)’ categories. This is the third year in a row that we have been shortlisted for these prestigious awards, following a year of strong performance and a string of new contract wins.

The awards which will take place on Monday 17th June, celebrate inspirational customer experience excellence and recognise individuals, teams and organisations leading the way with their customer and employee engagement achievements over the last 12 months.

The focus for ‘Giving Something Back’, a brand-new category for this year, is about shining a light on organisations that are supporting local communities and charities, have a strong focus on the environment and operating sustainability, and look after and develop their employees.

Our social impact commitment sits at the heart of everything we do and we believe that we shouldn’t have to choose between business growth, sustainability and doing the right thing by our employees and local communities. It’s part of our ‘future shaping’ ethos, to make business decisions that help shape a better world too.

Here are just some of our highlights and achievements in this area:

  • Reducing our emissions by 70% against our baseline year, including zero office waste to landfill and being on track to be Carbon Neutral by 2030
  • Donating >£15,700 to our employee-voted charities, including Alzheimer’s Society and Mind
  • Choosing our new headquarters with sustainability and employee wellbeing in mind. It’s powered by 100% renewable electricity, has an onsite cafe, gym facilities, beehives, aswell as social events to provide a comfortable and accessible place to work
  • Being part of Sumillion’s Green Diamond Club. Our partnership has built a well for a school in Ghana, donated 300 of our refurbished laptops and is ensuring we are sourcing our carbon-neutral remanufactured laptops – saving approximately 316kg of CO2 compared to buying new, helping prevent a total of 94,800kg of emissions.
  • Supporting our existing and future supply chains by working with SMEs where possible. 85% of suppliers are classed as SMEs / freelancers
  • Being a Disability Confident Committed Employer and improving our Gender Pay Gap year-on-year – with no median gap
  • Investing in a dedicated social impact team and new measurement portal to drive our business decision and our values.

In the best culture category, we have showcased how our ever-evolving ‘Be 100% You’ employee engagement strategy is focussed on giving colleagues a voice, making sure they are heard, and celebrating what makes everybody unique and the different skills and personalities they bring to being our ‘experience makers’.

Some of the initiatives include The Big Debate, our employee forum where representatives discuss issues and ideas directly with our CEO and Chief HR Officer, to help improve and shape our business; our peer-nominated and voted ‘Be 100% You’ awards; MyCreationStation, a brand-new platform to gather innovative ideas and foster ‘intrapreneurship’; and The CEO Club, which is a dedicated mentoring programme designed to empower employees to feel more in control of their development, while investing in their progression.

Over the last 12 months, we have seen strong employee survey results:

  • 85% say Arvato is a great place to work
  • 91% say Arvato is inclusive
  • 87% say that Arvato encourages them to be ‘100% You’ at work
  • 91% say their manager treats them fairly and with respect.

We’re extremely proud to have been shortlisted for such prestigious awards.

Our people are our greatest asset and are our ‘experience makers’, so being recognised for these categories in particular, is really important to us and is a testament to the investment we’re making into having a positive social impact and also ensuring our employees feel engaged and part of our journey. Thank you to the teams and everyone involved in delivering these great results over the last 12 months!

Sally Neale, ArvatoConnect’s Chief HR Officer
